Current Testbed Operational Status

The current testbed consists of 5 Dell Small Form Factor host machines. Currently only two nodes have a USRP1 attached to the system. This will soon become five in the near future. Within each USRP1 is a single RFX400 daughterboard that is able to transmit and receive from approximately 400 MHz - 500 MHz.

If another daughterboard is required for your project, please contact Dr. Timothy Newman (trnewman@…).

All CORNET nodes currently have public IP addresses, and are remotely accessible using SSH. The static public IP addresses for each of the five nodes are listed below:

  • Node-00: 128.173.221.42
  • Node-01: 128.173.221.43
  • Node-02: 128.173.221.44 (USRP1-RFX400)
  • Node-03: 128.173.221.45 (USRP1-RFX400)
  • Node-04: 128.173.221.46

They are currently sitting in a row on an L-shaped desk, with approximately 1 meter of separation between each node.

Accessing the network from Windows

From a windows machine, an SSH client is required in order to remotely access the CORNET nodes individually. A popular windows SSH client is  PuTTY.

Accessing the network from Linux

From a linux machine simply issue the following command

# ssh <username>@<cornet node IP address>

Obtaining Remote Access Login Information

To obtain a username for the CORNET nodes, please email Dr. Timothy Newman (trnewman@…).

Node Software

Each node contains the following software:

  • Ubuntu Linux 9.04 Client Version
  • GNU Radio 3.2.2
  • OSSIE 0.74

In addition, Node-00 has MATLAB R2009a installed.
